Adi
Da"Adi Da" is the principal Name of Avatar Adi Da Samraj.
The Name "Adi Da" was Revealed to Adi Da (then known as "Da Avabhasa") on October 7, 1994. "Adi" is a Sanskrit word that means "first", "primordial", "source". It is additionally defined as "primary", "beginning", "commencement", and "first fruits". Avatar Adi Da's devotees recognize Him as the Primordial Being, the Source of all, the Original Divine Person, Da--and He is the Avatar, the bodily Revelation of that One.
"The Da Avatar" is a Title of respect used by devotees of Avatar Adi Da.
"Avatar" means "One who is descended or 'crossed down' from and as the Divine". It is a Sanskrit word for the Divine Incarnation. Thus, the Name "Adi Da", combined with the reference "The Da Avatar", fully acknowledges Beloved Da as the One His devotees know Him to be.
"Samraj" is a Title for Avatar Adi Da, which He was offered by His devotees in 1996. "Samraj" means the "Universal Ruler", or "Supreme Lord". This Title is not intended to indicate sovereignty in any worldly or political sense, but rather to recognize Avatar Adi Da as the Divine Master of all hearts and the Spiritual King of all who resort to Him.
"The Ruchira Buddha" is a Title assumed by Avatar Adi Da Samraj in late 1996. To address Adi Da as "Ruchira" (Sanskrit for "radiant") is acknowledge Him as "the Radiant, Shining, 'Bright' One". "Buddha" is a traditional term for an Enlightened being (literally meaning "awakened one"), but when Avatar Adi Da's devotees use it in reference to Him, they intend it in the sense of "The One Who Is, Self-Radiant, Inherently (or Perfectly Subjectively) 'Bright', Self-Enlightened, and Eternally Awake".
When Avatar Adi Da Samraj is addressed as "the Ruchira Buddha" this does not mean that He is part of the historical tradition of Buddhism. Rather, this title acknowledges that Avatar Adi Da is the Eternally "Bright"-Shining and Awake One Who has now appeared to establish His own unique and uniquely complete tradition of Most Perfect Divine Awakening.
"The Ruchira Avatar" is the principal Title of Adi Da Samraj. He formally took this title in the summer of 1997. "Ruchira" is Sanskrit for "Radiant", "Effulgent", or "Bright". "Ruchira" is the Condition of All-Pervading Radiance, Joy, and Love-Blissful Divine Consciousness, Which Avatar Adi Da, even in His infancy, named "the 'Bright'". Avatar Adi Da Samraj is the unique Revelation of the "Bright"--and, because this is so, He is the "Ruchira Avatar", or the "Shining Divine 'Descent'", the Appearance of the Divine in bodily (human) Form.
